POLICE REPORTS

These items have been collected from various police departments.

Thursday — Matthew Slater, 21, of Butler was arrested for allegedly stealing a Sony Playstation 2 game system and four games from his father's Wallula Avenue home.

Police said Slater admitted he took the property on Jan. 10 and sold it at Cranberry Township store $120.

Slater is charged with theft and receiving stolen property. He is in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $1,000 bond on those charges as well as a warrant issued out of Allegheny County.

7:55 p.m. Sunday — Eileen Bellows, no age given, of Trafford, Allegheny County, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after her car collided with a sport utility vehicle on Interstate 79 in Cranberry Township. A Cranberry Township girl, who police did not identify, was driving the SUV.

5 p.m. Sunday — A car driven by John Adams, 77, of Seminole, Armstrong County, struck a utility pole along Route 422 in Franklin Township. Adams, who was wearing a seat belt, was treated for minor injuries at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Sunday — A cash box containing $100 was taken between Jan. 2 and Sunday in a burglary at the concession stand at Marion Township Community Park in Marion Township.

Saturday — Someone between 8:30 p.m. and midnight kicked in the basement door at the William Flynn Highway home of Lynn Smith in Slippery Rock Township in an apparent attempted break-in. Damage was estimated at $200.

Friday — Someone between 8:30 p.m. Thursday and 7:30 a.m. Friday vandalized a vacuum island at the Kristy Klean Car Wash in Jefferson Township. Damage was estimated between $2,500 and $3,000.

1:32 p.m. Jan. 7 — Trooper Kimberly Ferguson, 34, of Butler suffered minor injuries when she swerved her cruiser to avoid another car and struck an embankment at Branchton Road and Route 8 in Cherry Township.

Carl Muck, 81, of Boyers, who was driving the other car, was cited for a stop sign violation. Ferguson was wearing a seat belt.

1:55 a.m. Sunday — Joseph Vasbinder, 45, of Rimersburg was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 68 in Rimersburg.
