Union boys put torch to E. Forest

Gary Cooper scored 29 points and Kyle Hilliard added 23 points and 12 rebounds to power the Union boys basketball team to a 93-74 victory over East Forest Wednesday.

Union (9-5, 4-3) scored 33 points in the first quarter and led 59-31 at the break. The teams combined for 54 first-quarter points and 53 in the fourth quarter.

The Golden Knights also had 17 points and 10 assists from Toby Painter, 14 points and seven assists from Billy Burns and 12 assists from Nate Boltz.

Tyler Grossman and Tyler Armagost each sank two free throws in the final 28 seconds to help the Warriors eke out the KSAC victory.

Moniteau (11-3, 5-1) outrebounded the Bulldogs 62-26, including 33 offensive boards.

Sean Foust poured in 32 points, including 15 in the first quarter, to key the Falcons' road victory.

Foust also sank eight of 10 free throws in the fourth quarter to hold off a late West Forest rally.
