2:12 a.m. today — James Anthony Reedy, 34, of Saxonburg was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after allegedly leading police on a 5-mile chase on Dinnerbell Road in Penn Township. In addition to DUI, Reedy faces a charge of fleeing or attempting to elude police.Monday — A New England Firearms brand single-shot, break-action rifle was taken from the Denny Road home of Drew Sunquist in Middlesex Township. The theft occurred between Sept. 15 and Monday.2:20 a.m. Sunday — James McKenna, no age given, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on New Castle Road in Butler.12:40 p.m. Saturday — Trucks driven by Russell Rankin, 61, of New Bethlehem, Clarion County, and Terry Weitzel, 56, of East Brady, Clarion County, collided on Route 68 in Summit Township.Friday — Six motorists were arrested for driving under the influence during a DUI checkpoint detail police conducted on Route 8 in Center Township.In addition, troopers cited three motorists for driving with suspended licenses, and issued 25 traffic citations and 36 written warnings.12:30 a.m. Dec. 24 — A fight at a party at an Alwine Road home in Clinton Township left Sean Heinle, 19, of Sarver with a broken jaw. Police are investigating the assault and have a suspect — identified only as an 18-year-old man — in the case.
7 a.m. Sunday — An unidentified red vehicle, possibly a small truck, struck a car parked on Penn Street in North Bethlehem, Clarion County, and did not stop following the crash. Mark Nicholson of Zelienople owns the car.11:30 p.m. Thursday — Adam S. Green, 31, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his sport utility vehicle struck a garbage truck driven by Lawrence Downing, 52, of Rimersburg. The truck was stopped on Route 322 in Strattanville, Clarion County.Green, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken with serious injuries to Clarion Hospital. His condition was not known this morning.Jeremy Best, 31, of Clarion and Schuyler Snowdon, 31, of Wilmington, N.C., passengers in the SUV, were also taken to Clarion Hospital with minor to moderate injuries.
8:44 p.m. Sunday — Troopers seized a batch of magic mushrooms and nearly $2,000 following a traffic stop on Route 422 in North Buffalo Township, Armstrong County.Ryan Muirhead, 29, and Loryn Amilkavich, 20, both of Dubois, Clearfield Township, were arrested on drug-related charges and placed in the Armstrong County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bond each. Muirhead is also charged with driving under the influence.Police noted that in addition to the mushrooms containing psilocybin, a narcotic substance much stronger than methamphetamine, a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle. The contraband and $1,736 in currency were taken into evidence.5:50 p.m. Sunday — Tammy Sue Booth, 40, of Rimersburg, Clarion County, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 28 in Buffalo Township, Butler County.8:15 a.m. Sunday — A car driven by James Shirley, 26, of Cadogen, Armstrong County, crashed and rolled onto its side on Route 128 near the Veterans Bridge in North Buffalo Township, Armstrong County.
