6:51 p.m. Dec. 26 — Cherie Cypher, no age given, of Sarver was arrested for driving under the influence on Route 356.

12:50 a.m. today — A 17-year-old New Castle girl, who police did not identify, swerved her car to avoid debris on Interstate 79 in Cranberry Township and struck an embankment. The car rolled over and landed on its wheels.

The girl, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken with moderate injuries to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

1:05 p.m. Sunday — Two people were hurt by flying glass from a shattered windshield when their car struck a deer on Route 108 in Slippery Rock Township. The driver, Kimberly Hites, 39, and passenger, Kathy Milligan, 45, both of Slippery Rock, suffered minor injuries.

2:11 a.m. Sunday — Andrew S. Bell, 21, of Grove City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 8 in Slippery Rock Township.

1:20 a.m. Saturday — A car driven by Sherrie Montgomery, 34, of Fenelton and a pickup truck driven by Phillip Birckbichler, 57, of Butler collided on Route 68 near Double Road in Connoquenessing Township.

1 a.m. Saturday — Joseph Leya, 25, of Russellton, Allegheny County, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his car traveled down an embankment and struck two gas meters along Sarver Road in Clinton Township.

12:35 p.m. Friday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Andrew Burd, 18, of Saxonburg crashed and rolled over several times before landing in a field along Bearcreek Road near Stoney Hollow Road in Winfield Township.

Friday — Police reported that investigators are looking into a case of identity theft in which nearly $7,000 in fraudulent purchases were made between December 2004 and June with a credit card owned by Steven Hall Construction of Clay Township. The thief used the company's Lowe's credit account to rack up purchases in New York, Tennessee and Florida.

Friday — Robert Lippert of Smith Road, Venango Township, reported that his .22-caliber Jennings pistol was lost or stolen between Dec. 17 and Friday. Anyone with information is asked to call the barracks at 724-284-8100.

8:55 p.m. Thursday — Cars driven by Elsie Kosar, 76, and Patricia Steinheiser, 47, both of Butler, collided at Route 308 and Henricks Road in Center Township.

6:45 p.m. Thursday — Five mailboxes attached to their posts were found on O'Donnell Road in Chicora. Police located four of the owners and returned their property; however, one mailbox remains unclaimed. The owner can claim the property by contacting the barracks.

Wednesday — A cell phone and several wrapped Christmas gifts were stolen from a car between 3 p.m. Tuesday and 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at Willow Run Drive in Center Township. Mason Menell of Butler owns the stolen property.

Dec. 16 — An 83-year-old woman reported that about 20 Christmas cards were stolen from a mailbox Dec. 15 or 16 at her West Sunbury Road home in Center Township.

4:05 p.m. Sunday — Three illegal aliens are in the Lawrence County Jail stemming from their arrest following a traffic stop on Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township, Mercer County.

The suspects — two Mexican men, 20 and 23, and a 24-year-old man from Ecuador — will be turned over to federal immigration authorities.

2:31 a.m. Saturday — Gordon Beck III, no age given, of Flagler Beach, Fla., was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his vehicle crashed and rolled onto its side on Interstate 79 in Springfield Township, Mercer County. Beck, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.

Saturday — A 16-year-old Chester County boy escaped between 6:25 and 9:30 p.m. from a cottage at the George Junior Republic juvenile detention facility in Pine Township, Mercer County. He was later caught and returned to the facility.

3:45 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Nicole Krizon, 18, of Polk, Venango County and a sport utility vehicle driven by Kendra King, 32, of Grove City collided at routes 208 and 2005 in Pine Township, Mercer County. The collision spun Krizon's car into a pickup driven by Christopher Kemmerer, 20, of Grove City.

Krizon and King, both wearing seat belts, suffered minor injuries.
