Bethany Koch had 27 points and 12 rebounds as the Union girls basketball team routed Warwick (Va.) 74-42 at the Stafford (Va.) Holiday Tournament Friday.

The Damsels (10-1) outscored Warwick 42-18 in the second half to pull away.

Koch was named to the all-tournament team and Nikki Davis, who had eight points and eight rebounds, received a scholar athlete award.

The Damsels lost their first-round game to Hylton (Va.) 65-59 Wednesday but defeated Osbourn (Va.) 71-54 Thursday.

"They're all big schools," said Union coach Josh Meeker. "They just go up to 3A, but enrollment is huge. The first night, (Hylton) has 3,000 kids at their high school.

"I'm very happy they way our kids played and bounced back. To come back and win the next two games was good," Meeker added.
