8:07 p.m. Wednesday — A sport utility vehicle driven by James Holt, 19, of Center Township struck a parked car and utility pole along East Jefferson Street.Holt told police he suffered an epileptic seizure at the time of the crash. He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital; however, he apparently suffered no injuries in the crash. Christopher Richter of Butler owns the car that was struck.6:22 p.m. Wednesday — A 69-year-old Summit Township woman suffered minor injuries when she was hit by a car on College Street.Alice Phipps was taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital; her condition was not known this morning.Police said Phipps was crossing the road when a car driven by Karen Fischer, 46, of Butler struck her. Fischer told police she had turned onto College Street and did not see Phipps. No charges were filed.12:57 a.m. Wednesday — Kenneth Felitsky, 28, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence after his car struck the rear of a garbage truck on West Cunningham Street. Daniel King, 47, of Chicora was driving the truck.Wednesday — Gary Johnson, 27, of Adams Township was charged with sexually assaulting a 10-year-old Butler girl in the city July 1.Johnson, who remains in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bond, is charged with two counts each of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and indecent assault, as well as indecent exposure and corruption of minors.The charges came after police and Butler County Children and Youth Services began an investigation Dec. 21.Wednesday — A Butler woman was the target of an apparent Internet fraud scam.The woman, who police did not identify, told authorities she had met a man in an online dating service. The man at some point sent her five money orders totaling $4,350 and told her that he was a United States citizen stranded in Nigeria, Africa, according to a police report.She asked the woman to cash the money orders and wire him the money. The woman became suspicious and asked her bank to check the authenticity of the money orders; the bank determined they were counterfeit.Police told the woman she could pursue her complaint with the U.S. Treasury Department and U.S. Postal Service.Authorities again issued a warning for people to be careful of such scams.

Wednesday — A cell phone and two packs of cigarettes were taken between 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday from a pickup truck parked on Geibel Road in Summit Township. Kevin Conner, no address given, owns the truck.Wednesday — A cell phone, bank debit card, driver's license and $15 in currency were taken between 6 p.m. Tuesday and noon Wednesday from a vehicle on Manor Hill Drive in Center Township. Kimberly Geibel of Butler owns the vehicle.7:25 p.m. Monday — A car driven by Randall Harsh, 19, of Harrisville skidded off ice-covered Route 8 near Boyers Road in Mercer Township and struck a ditch.Monday — The interiors of eight vehicles between Friday and Monday were vandalized at the Wheels of Work on Evans City Road in Forward Township. About $500 in damage was reported. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the barracks at 724-284-8100.

2:30 a.m. today — A car driven by Krystle Cressler, 20, of Ford City skidded off mud-caked Furnace Road in East Franklin Township, Armstrong County, struck a tree and traveled backward over an embankment.Cressler suffered moderate injuries. Two passengers, Joel Walker, 19, and Travis Hartzell, 15, both of Kittanning, suffered minor injuries. None of the occupants was wearing a seat belt.
