This season, the cross country coaches from the Butler County schools decided to comprise a list of all-star runners.

"We did it by phone calls and e-mails," said Knoch coach Wess Brahler, who headed up the project. "I've been working on it for two months.

"Everyone has an opinion and we took everyone's considerations, then made a list, sent it out, rewrote it, sent it back out … until we had something everyone agreed with," Brahler added.

The following is the inaugural Butler County Cross Country All-Star teams as voted on by the coaches:
