Larry E. Oertel

Larry E. Oertel, 58, of Connoquenessing died at 12:20 a.m. Thursday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born March 23, 1947, in Ellwood City, he was the son of Oscar William and Carrie Elizabeth Kidd Oertel.

Mr. Oertel was a member of the Connoquenessing Methodist Church.

He enjoyed NASCAR, mud-bogging, racing cars and car shows.

He was a 1965 graduate of Butler High School and had been a lab technician at NAPCO until he was disabled in 1976.

Surviving are his wife, Adriane Kay Mulneix Oertel; a daughter, Mrs. Scott (Carrie Adele) Scheerbaum of Greenville; a stepdaughter, Candie Ziegler of Butler; a stepson, Harold Ziegler Jr. of Pittsburgh; twin grandchildren; and a step granddaughter.

Also surviving are three brothers, William Oertel of Evans City and Doug and Perry Oertel, both of Connoquenessing, and a niece.

OERTEL — Friends of Larry E. Oertel, who died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9:15 p.m. Saturday at the YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St. Services will follow at 9:15 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be private.Information also is available at www.youngfuneralhomes.com.
