John and Mary Marchuk of Butler will celebrate 60 years of marriage with a family party at Old Country Buffet.

The former Mary Hallahan married Marchuk on Nov. 8, 1945, at St. John Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora.

They have four children, Judith Vild of Beaver, Nicholas Marchuk of Mars, Mary Huegel of Butler and Annette Lecheler of Denison, Texas.

They also have six grandchildren.

Marchuk is retired from the shipping department at Armco. A veteran of the 8th Air Force, he served in World War II. He is a member of the VFW Post 249 in Butler, the American Legion Post 778 in Lyndora, the Moose Lodge, the Slovak Club and the CB Rangers.

Mrs. Marchuk is a homemaker. She worked for the government during World War II.

The couple belongs to St. John Byzantine Catholic Church, where Mrs. Marchuk is a member of the women’s club.
