Anna Daugherty of Butler celebrated her 99th birthday recently with a dinner at Slippery Rock Park, Slippery Rock.

The former Anna Christie was born Oct. 27, 1906, in Concord Township. She married Anthony Daugherty Sr. in February, 1929. He is deceased.

She has 10 children, Dorothy Snyder of Parker; Marian Strong of Royersford; Anna Sweeney and Doris Stephenson, both of Butler; Edward Daugherty of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; Betty McClimans of Cincinnati, Ohio; Donna Weiland of Chicago; James Daugherty of Ishpming, Mich.; Margaret Brainard of Warren, Ohio; and Mary Jane Furey of Fenelton. Another son, Anthony Daugherty Jr., is deceased.

She also has 34 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Daugherty is a homemaker. She belongs to St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in North Oakland.
