William and Joanne Monpere of Jackson Township celebrated 40 years of marriage recently with a family dinner at the Garden Gate Restaurant in Prospect. They also celebrated with a trip to Niagara Falls, Canada.

The former Joanne Curry married Monpere on Oct. 9, 1965, at Park United Presbyterian Church in Zelienople.

Monpere is the father of William Monpere of Connoquenessing. The couple has a son, Daniel Monpere of Jackson Township. They also have five grandchildren and a great-grandchild. A son, Frank "Ron" Monpere, and a great-grandson are deceased.
