Oren W. "Pappy" Hutchison, 65, of Butler died

at 8:56 p.m.

Saturday at his home after a heart seizure.

Born Dec. 29, 1939, in Butler, he was the son of the late William P. and Fern A. Knox Hutchison.

He served in the National Guard Reserves.

Mr. Hutchison retired from Armco-Butler Works. He also worked at the Rock House Bar & Grill, owned and operated Hutchison's Garage and Inspection Station, was a lifetime farmer and was the caretaker of Rider Cemetery.

He was a member of Rider Lutheran Church and Masonic Lodge 272. He was the oldest active member of the Butler Farm Show Board of Directors, where he started the American Heritage Showcase of antiques 21 years ago.

Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Sandra Lee Gregg Hutchison, whom he married June 2, 1962; a daughter, Diana Lynn Bowser of Butler; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert W. and Adriane Hutchison of Sayre, Bradford County; and two grandchildren, Erica and Rachel Hutchison. He also is survived by four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Faye Hutchison, Kay Susan and Carl Vinroe and Norma and Tom Kriley, all of Butler, and Doris and Dennis O'Donnell of Chicora; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Neil and Judy Hutchison and William John and Joyce Hutchison, both of Butler, and Carl and Lynn Hutchison of Eugene, Ore.

HUTCHISON - Friends of Oren W. "Pappy" Hutchison, who died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, will be received at from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Rider Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dennis Hindman officiating.
