Genevieve H. Sybert
Genevieve H. “Jenny” Sybert, 68 of Gameland Road in Chicora died at 8 p.m. Thursday at Butler Memorial Hospital following a long illness.
She was born in Rural Valley Sept. 11, 1937, the daughter of the late Robert E. McClanahan and Leola Agnes Walter McClanahan.
Mrs. Sybert was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses of Chicora and had graduated from the Shannock Valley High School Class of 1955.
She enjoyed sewing and her outdoor flower gardens.
Mrs. Sybert operated Jenny’s Fabric Shop in Chicora for a number of years.
She married Reno J. “Junior” Sybert on Sept. 15, 1955, in Frederick, Md., and he preceded her in death on Oct. 2, 2002.
Mrs. Sybert is survived by two sons, Steven G Sybert of Bay City, Mich., and Michael B. (Sandra) Sybert of Chicora; a daughter, Brenda C. Sybert of Sedona Ariz.; three grandchildren, Nicole L Sybert of Butler, Stephanie Sybert of Chicora and Brandi Sue Sybert of Bay City Mich.; two great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Jenny Lynn; a brother, Robert F. (Joan) McClanahan of Chicora; four sisters, Audrey (Wilmer) Goldstrohm of Kittanning, Evalyeen Green of Ford Cliff, Lawanna (Regis) Baptiste of Butler, Bonnie (John) Jordan of Dayton, Pa.; two close friends Lynn (Peter) Stivanson of Kittanning and Marie (Robert) Geibel of Chicora; a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Theodore McClanahan; and three grandchildren.
<B>SYBERT</B> — There will be no viewing for Genevieve H. “Jenny” Sybert, who died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2005. Burial will be private in the Rural Valley Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the RICHARD D. HILLIS FUNERAL HOME in Petrolia.
