Frank 'Hank' Taggart

Frank L. "Hank" Taggart passed peacefully in his sleep from this life on Sept. 11.

Frank was born Sept. 12, 1918, in Butler, the son of Clyde L. and Margaret Eates Taggart.

He was a 1937 graduate of Butler High School. He served in the Army from June 24, 1941, through December 1945, during World War II, in New Guinea and the Philippines. He was most proud that his unit never lost a man to an accident or enemy action.

Frank married Idabelle Hopper from Butler, Jan. 27, 1944.

"Hank from the bank" began and ended his 39-year banking career with The Bank of Akron, which later became National City Bank. During "retirement," he worked nearly a decade for the Akron Auto Dealers Association. He then worked for and made many friends at Printing Concepts until several years ago.

Hank and Idabelle enjoyed many activities over the years including traveling, music, ballroom dancing and ushering for the Cleveland Orchestra. Sadly he died one day before his 87th birthday.

He is remembered and loved by his wife, Idabelle, of Stow, Ohio; and his children, Lynn Taggart Lane, daughter, of Marblehead, Mass.; Karen Taggart Hatlen, daughter, of Menlo Park, Calif., and "Ron" Ronald Taggart, son, of Stow; and Graham Taggart Reinhart, grandson, of Marblehead. Also surviving are his siblings, Yvonne Taggart Allen of Stow and Mary Olive Taggart Swigart and her husband, Alfred "Dale" Swigart, of Butler; and nieces, nephews; grandnephews and many friends.
