Edward and Margaret Vogel of Mars celebrated 50 years of marriage recently with a party with family and friends at their home.

The former Margaret Davis married Vogel on Oct. 14, 1955, at Mount Nebo Presbyterian Church in Ohio Township.

They have four children, Edward Vogel and Douglas Vogel, both of Mars; Collette Vogel Andres of Renfrew; and Claudine Grochalski of Evans City.

They also have 11 grandchildren.

Vogel is the owner and president of Vogel Disposal Service, Tri-County Industries and TC Recycling. He serves as a township supervisor in Adams Township and is a member of the Detachable Container Association, NSWMA and the John E. Mair Masonic Lodge 729 of Mars. He is a former board member of the Community Development Corporation of Butler County.

Mrs. Vogel is the secretary and treasurer for Vogel Disposal Service, Tri-County Industries and TC Recycling. She is a member of the Mars chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

The couple belongs to Hope Lutheran Church in Cranberry Township.
