Ron and Vonda Moore of Chicora celebrated 50 years of marriage with a family dinner at Michael's Restaurant and a surprise picnic at the home of their son.

The former Vonda Walker married Moore on Oct. 7, 1955, at Karns City United Methodist Church.

They have two children, Roger Moore of Clarendon and Jeffrey Moore of Chicora.

They also have three grandchildren.

Moore is retired from the Melt Shop at Armco.

Mrs. Moore is a homemaker and a secretary for the Chicora/Karns City Methodist Charge.

The couple belongs to Karns City United Methodist Church.
