Jewel G. McGill, 92, formerly of Harrisville, died at 3:40 a.m. Wednesday at Orchard Manor, Pine Township, Mercer County, where she was a resident since June 1990.

Born in Clintonville, Jan. 23, 1913, she was the daughter of George A. and Mary E. Hutchinson Eakin.

She was a homemaker and had taught piano lessons and enjoyed playing the organ.

Mrs. McGill was a member of the Harrisville United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Missionary Society and the Friendship Sunday School Class. She also belonged to the AARP.

Several nieces and nephews survive.

Her husband, Donald W. McGill, whom she married April 20, 1939, died Feb. 7, 1982. A sister and two brothers also preceded her in death.

McGILL - Friends of Jewel G. McGill, who died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at JAMISON FUNERAL HOME, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeffrey St. Clair, her church pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville.
