Glew leads Mars girls golf to perfect season
Marissa Glew earned medalist honors with a 37 Wednesday as the Mars girls golf team polished off a perfect regular season with a 177-197 victory over Pine-Richland.
Glew carded a 36 in the Planets' (14-0) 168-195 win Tuesday over North Allegheny.
Glew shot an 80 recently at the WPIAL girls tournament and qualified for the state meet, scheduled Oct. 24-25 at Heritage Hills Golf Course in York.
The Lady Planets qualified for the WPIAL team playoffs Oct. 20 at Cedar Brook Golf Course in Belle Vernon.

Seneca Valley 205, North Allegheny 206 - The Lady Raiders finished their season with a one-stroke win at Connoquenessing Country Club, wrapping up with a program-best 10-4 record.Shannon O'Halloran led Seneca Valley with a 48.

Andrew Harmon scored two first half goals and goalkeeper Zach Fleeger made them hold up as Karns City nipped DuBois Central Catholic 2-1.The Gremlins are now 13-2-1.<B>Slippery Rock 2, Hickory 1 -</B> Mike Ramirez scored both goals for the Rockets (11-1-2), his second goal coming on a penalty kick. Sweeper Joe Durso led the team defensively.Slippery Rock travels to Grove City today.

Butler's boys and girls lost meets to North Allegheny, but swept Shaler Tuesday. The Golden Tornado boys defeated Shaler 18-44 while the girls posted a 20-43 win.North Allegheny's boys defeated Butler 16-47 and the Butler girls 17-44.Both Butler teams finished the season with 6-3 records.
