Daniel and Loretta "Betty" Burke of Butler celebrated 60 years of marriage Monday with a family dinner at their home.

The former Loretta Maloney married Burke on Oct. 10, 1945, at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.

They have three children, Daniel Burke of Renfrew; Ronald Burke of Naples, N.Y.; and Eileen Lammie of Elkins, W.Va.

They also have seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Burke is retired from the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where he worked in the engineering department. A veteran of the Army, serving in the 76th Air Force Division, he was a prisoner of war during World War II. He is a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is also a member of the Retired Federal Employees and the Caterpillar Club.

Mrs. Burke is retired from the office of Dr. Fox, where she worked as a nurse. She is a member of the Nurses Alumni organization at Butler Memorial Hospital.

The couple belongs to St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Butler Township.
