Atkinson 60th anniversary
Ray and Edith Atkinson of Renfrew celebrated 60 years of marriage recently with an open house. A family dinner followed at The Copper Penny.
The former Edith Domhoff married Atkinson on Sept. 29, 1945, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Zelienople.
They have four children, Rose Vaughn of Slippery Rock; Darlene Blinn of Lansing, Mich.; and Raymond Atkinson and David Atkinson, both of Butler.
They also have six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Atkinson is retired from Spang and Company where he worked as a cable tool coordinator.
Mrs. Atkinson is retired from the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where she worked as a nursing assistant.
The couple attends Christ Community United Methodist Church in Butler Township. They are volunteers with Meals on Wheels, the Butler Food Cupboard and the bulletin committee at their church.
They also enjoy bowling and continue to bowl twice a week.
