Bernard and Alice Waltman of Chicora will celebrate 50 years of marriage with a catered dinner on Saturday.

The former Alice Pruss married Waltman on Oct. 8, 1955, at St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church in Carnegie.

They have seven children, Cindy Garcia of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Dr. Bonnie Catalano of West Friendship, Md.; Dan Waltman and Tim Waltman, both of Fenelton; Mary Piwowarski of Inidanapolis; Rick Waltman of Chicora; and Dr. Teena Waltman of Cranberry Township.

They also have 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Another grandson is deceased.

Waltman worked as a full-time insurance salesman with Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance for 55 years and continues to work part-time. He enjoys sports, handiwork and outdoor activities.

Mrs. Waltman is retired from the Chicora Medical Center, where she worked as a registered nurse for 27 years. She enjoys reading, playing cards and was once an avid golfer and bowler.

Both are active members of St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church in Carbon Center.
