OT goal lifts Butler girls to win

Amanda Dillon scored two minutes into the second overtime period to lift the Butler girls soccer team to a 2-1 win over North Hills Monday.

Dillon scored off an assist by Lindsay Hohn, who scored the first goal of the game for the Golden Tornado (8-3-1 overall, 5-3-1 in section play).

Butler will play at North Allegheny in a big section matchup at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Slippery Rock 7, Maplewood 2 — Jence Rhoads totaled three goals and an assist for the Rockets.

Brittney Miller, Kelsey Drennen, Emma Walter and Kirsten Weghorst also scored goals, with Miller adding two assists for the Rockets (11-4, 7-0).

Seneca Valley 0, Shaler 0 — Aly Intihar picked up the shutout in net for the Raiders (7-0-3 in section play) in this tie with the rival Titans.

Karns City 6, Redbank Valley 1 — Brittni Grenninger recorded five goals and an assist for the Gremlins (11-2).

Kristen Barnhart had a goal and an assist, Christen Futcher had two assists and Kristen Barnhart and Julianne Scott had one assist each.

Seneca Valley’s Kevin Day shot a 76 to finish tied for seventh place at the WPIAL semifinals Monday at Beaver Lakes Golf Course in Aliquippa.The performance was good enough to advance, as the top 10 will compete in the district finals at Sewickley Heights Golf Course.Butler’s Collin Randall shot a 77 and lost to North Allegheny’s J.T.
