Freeport QB leads way to win over W. Shamokin
Freeport quarterback Bryan Zimmerman had the game of a lifetime Friday night at West Shamokin.
The junior passed for 383 yards and five touchdowns as the Yellowjackets team cruised to a 44-8 high school football victory.
Zimmerman connected with A.J. Vidra and Nate Kotecki for two touchdowns each and found Josh Shreckengost for a 76-yard scoring toss.
Schreckengost caught three passes for 117 yards. Zimmerman completed 18 of 30 passes on the night for Freeport (2-4).
West Shamokin (1-5) scored in the fourth quarter on an 81-yard Luke Wilson touchdown pass to Dylan Henderson.
Hickory 14, Grove City 9 -
Gordon Craig booted three field goals for the Eagles (3-2, 2-2), but Grove City failed to score a touchdown.
Campbell rushed for 97 yards and two touchdowns for Hickory.
Clarion 48, Union 7 -
Manny Carpin scored four touchdowns - all in the first half - to lead the unbeaten Bobcats.
Carpin scored on runs of 28 and 30 yards, on a 9-yard pass from Seth Wolfe and on an 80-yard punt return as Clarion had a 41-0 lead by halftime.
Union scored in the final period when Toby Painter threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to Brett Moore. The Golden Knights were limited to 79 yards of offense, including 32 rushing.
