Knoch volleyball improves to 7-1
Knoch's girls volleyball team improved to 7-1 overall, 6-1 in section play with a 3-0 win over Deer Lakes Wednesday night.
Kirsten Brant had 23 service points and 10 assists, Ashley Thrower 13 points and five kills, Carly Whisler 12 kills and Leanne Wiefling seven points and seven assists to lead the Knights to a 25-10, 25-4, 25-13 win.
Butler 3, Plum 2 -
The Golden Tornado (4-6) won this non-section match 12-25, 19-25, 25-18, 25-23, 15-13. Abby Herrit had 12 kills and 13 digs, Amy Achesinski 14 kills and Yuki Schaper 22 digs.
Butler will compete in the Seneca Valley Tournament Saturday.
Union 3, Moniteau 1 -
Kristin Baronetski had 11 digs and nine kills, but the Warriors still fell 16-25, 27-25, 9-25, 22-25 Tuesday.
Randi Campbell had eight digs, Cassie Wiest had seven digs, Amber Dillaman had five blocks and Haley McFeaters had five kills for Moniteau (3-4 in the KSAC).

Brittany Zaborowski was fourth for the Mars girls in 21:08 with teammate Courtney Moran placing 19th in 22:46.
The Mars girls golf team recorded a pair of wins Tuesday and Wednesday, beating Ambridge 199-217 and North Allegheny 166-170 to improve to 10-0.No other information was available.
Knoch 4, Blackhawk 2 -Amanda Sharbaugh tallied three goals for the Knights (6-5-1), two of them coming on assists from P.J.
