Falcons set for battle of winless teams

Something's got to give.

The A-C Valley and Conneaut Lake football teams are both 0-3. That's the bad news.

The good news is that one of them will walk away Friday night with a victory.

The Falcons and Indians will square off at Conneaut Lake with a 7 p.m. kickoff.

The Indians have lost their three games against Saegertown, Kennedy Catholic and Lakeview by a combined score of 96-28.

That's not a good start of the season for any team, but A-C Valley has had it even worse in the early going.

The Falcons have been outscored 153-7 and have been unable to find an identity on offense.

Senior tailback Rocco Crapis has rushed the ball 49 times for just 168 yards and no scores.

Sophomore quarterback Brad Rembold is averaging 20 pass attempts per game, but has not tallied a scoring pass yet compared to nine interceptions.

A-C Valley's defense will focus on stopping Conneaut Lake running back Justin Gibbons, who has 170 yards and two scores on the ground so far.

The Indians are coached by Ray Collins, who has tallied a 2-28 record in three-plus seasons with the team.

The two teams met last year, with A-C Valley winning easily, 47-6.
