'How to' classes offered by SRU

SLIPPERY ROCK - Attracting purple martins, speaking conversational Italian, quilting, creative writing and ballroom dancing are among the "how to" classes offered this fall by the Institute for Learning in Retirement at Slippery Rock University.

Registration for these and other institute classes now is underway, and classes will meet at SRU and at the Cranberry Township Building.

Other classes include an examination of Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew," getting organized, understanding your Jewish neighbor, marketing your organization, and feeding a vegetarian.

Classes run through mid-November. Most classes begin later this month.

The Institute for Learning in Retirement is dedicated to meeting the learning interests of older adults, but there are no age or educational requirements.

Full-year dues are $100, half-year dues $60. Membership is free for persons 90 or older.

ILR members may take as many classes as they wish.

For a complete class list or for more information, contact the ILR at 724-738-1604 or e-mail learning.retirement@sru.edu.
