Monday - Candice Rae Cogswell, 26, of Sandy Lake and David Redding, 26, of Polk, Venango County, were charged with writing bad checks that were passed onto S & S Beer Distributing on North Street. Cogswell and Redding are each accused of bouncing a check on Aug. 12 and 8, respectively.

11:50 a.m. Monday - An International truck driven by Mark Beatty, 42, of Grove City rolled onto its side after hitting a Jersey barrier while crossing the Toby Bridge on Miola Road in Highland Township, Clarion County. Beatty, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries

2:40 p.m. Tuesday - A car driven Zachary Shepard, 17, of Ford City crashed into an embankment on Route 3017 near Bell Top Drive in East Franklin Township, Armstrong County.

Saturday - Someone smashed a mandolin after breaking into the Lytle School Road home of Charles Fenstamaker Sr. on Sandy Lake Township, Mercer County. No other property was taken or disturbed in the burglary between 5 and 9 p.m. The mandolin is valued at $600.
