Slippery Rock, Butler girls soccer teams rolling along
Kelsey Drennen scored two goals and Jence Rhoads added a goal and assist Wednesday as the Slippery Rock girls soccer team defeated Conneaut Valley, 6-0.
Bethany Johnson, Elisa McCune and Ashley Fuller also scored for the Rockets (5-2, 2-0). Melanie Prilac, Emma Walker and Chelsey Fuller added assists.
Slippery Rock plays in the Pine-Richland Tournament at 6 p.m. Friday.
Butler 4, North Hills 0 -
Kelly Hilderbrand tallied two scores for the Golden Tornado (5-1, 2-1), and Ashley Oluschak and Jamie Albert both added one goal.
Lisa Rodgers picked up the shutout in net.
Ambridge 5, Knoch 3
- Amanda Sharbaugh and P.J. Abels each scored a goal and had an assist, but Knoch fell to Ambridge.
Libby Burris also scored a goal for the Knights (1-5-1).
Knoch 3, Ambridge 0 -Carly Whisler had eight kills, Kristen Brant nine service points and Zoe Hughes and Ashley Thrower seven kills each to power the Knights to a 25-17, 25-12, 25-15 victory.Knoch (4-0) will compete in the Plum Tournament Saturday.
Slippery Rock 12, Conneaut Valley 0 -Craig Bicehouse and Mike Ramirez scored two goals apiece for the Rockets (3-0-1). Adding single goals were Dustin Hribal, Wes Craig, Min Woo Chung, James Brown, Alex Fair, Austin Hawk, Ryan Gercken and Matt Durso.Joe Bryan and Abir Chatterjee split time in goal for the shutout. Slippery Rock travels to Franklin Thursday.
