4 p.m. Monday - An unidentified red car, possibly a Chrysler Sebring, struck a Butler woman on Cleveland Street and did not stop following the crash.Police did not immediately know if Amy Moore, 29, who was walking on the side of the road, was injured. An unknown woman was driving the car.
1:45 p.m. Tuesday - Police are searching for a would-be thief who tried to steal undisclosed food from the Sheetz store on Freeport Road.The unknown suspect, described as a white man, about 35 years old with a thin build and wearing a black shirt, dropped the merchandise and ran after being confronted by an employee.Officers assisted by city and state police as well as the Evans City police dog searched the area and a cornfield where the suspect was last seen but could not find the man.
8:26 p.m. Tuesday - A motorcycle driven by Douglas Kidd, 23, of Prospect traveled off Route 48 near Route 19 in Portersville, and struck a curb, tree and shrubs. Kidd, who was wearing a helmet, was taken with moderate injuries to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. His condition was not known this morning.7:20 p.m. Sept. 6 - A 17-year-old boy, who police did not identify, is accused of attempting to stab a 14-year-old girl at the Sutton Trailer Court in Clay Township. The girl, who also was not identified, was apparently not injured.The suspect is charged in juvenile court with attempted aggravated assault and reckless endangerment. Police released no other information about the case.Sept. 3 - Several undisclosed items valued at $735 were taken Sept. 2 or 3 from a campsite on Boonerhill Lane in Slippery Rock Township. Jeffery Kershner of Glenshaw, Allegheny County, owns the stolen property.
