Davis 90th birthday
Lewis Davis of Butler will celebrate his 90th birthday with an open house given by his children in his honor from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Unionville Fire Hall, Mahood Road and Route 8, Center Township.
Born Sept. 4, 1915, in Butler, he married Gertrude Snyder. She is deceased. He later married Rose Ferrier.
He has seven children, Raymond Davis, William Davis, Jeanne Shields, Carol Twentier and Cathy Kondos, all of Butler; Lewis “Mike” Davis of West Sunbury; and Donna Kirk of Florida. He also has 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Davis retired in 1979 after 42 years at Pullman Standard, where he worked as supervisor of the bolt and rivet department.
He is a member of the Pennsylvania Independent Oil Producers and is a former owner and operator of several coal mines in Butler County.
