Dr. Roger Sepich recently enlisted in the Lance Armstrong Foundation's Peleton Project.Participants in the project raise funds to support the foundation, which promotes cancer research, education and health programs and patient advocacy.Sepich plans to participate in the 100-mile Run for the Roses bike ride in October. Toastmasters International District 13 governor Bill Mueller recently appointed
Margo Perotti governor of the Area 8 Toastmasters clubs.A member of the Early Bird Toastmasters in Butler since 1999, she has earned an Advanced Toastmasters Bronze Award and has served as vice president of public relations, vice president of membership, vice president of education and president for the Early Bird Club.Perotti works for the Family Service Corps of Butler Memorial Hospital.She and her husband, Peter Perotti, reside in Middlesex Township.The Early Bird Club meets at 7:30 a.m. alternate Saturdays at Lifesteps in Butler.The following area residents took awards in the recent quilt show hosted by the
Bradys Bend Historical Society:The awards for best of show, judge's favorite and people's choice went to
Ruth Reed of Cowansville. Reed also took first and third place in the hand quilted appliques and first place in the hand-quilted piecework.
Barbara Hanna of Freeport took first place in the machine-quilted piecework and miscellaneous categories, second place in traditional small quilts and machine-quilted piecework and third place in contemporary small quilts.First and third place in traditional small quilts went to
Pam Mildren of Chicora. Mildren was also awarded second place prizes in contemporary small quilts and machine-quilted appliques.
Jennie Stimac of Bradys Bend earned first and third places in the embroidery category and first place in the miscellaneous, hand-quilted category.Second place in the embroidery category went to
Elsie Welton of Chicora.
Dawn Weibel of East Brady received first place in contemporary small quilts.Second place in the miscellaneous machine-quilted category went to
