Streak: Freeport has won six games during the regular season in each of the past three years.

Statistic: Knoch quarterback Jordan Shoop threw 13 touchdown passes and only four interceptions last year.

Strategy: Knoch hopes to avoid a sluggish start like last year, as Freeport posted a 15-0 victory in a game shortened to two quarters by heavy rain.

Speaking: "I'm not seeing the nervousness and anxiety in Jordan (Shoop) like I did before last year's opener. He's poised and confident. He can't wait to get going." - Knoch coach Mike King
