J. Paul and Mary Owens of Butler celebrated 55 years of marriage recently with a family trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The former Mary Haynes married Owens on Aug. 21, 1955, at Emanuel Episcopal Church in Norwich, N.Y.

They have three children, Sarah Jones of Media, Joseph Owens of Butler and Elizabeth Hannum of Holland.

They also have two grandchildren.

Owens is retired from Nationwide Insurance.

Mrs. Owens is also retired. She worked at the YWCA in Butler.

The couple belongs to St. Peter's Episcopal Church.
