An April 8, 2006, wedding is being planned by Tara Washko of Butler and Shane Tagmyer of Pittsburgh.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Stephen and Mary Washko of Butler. Parents of the prospective bridegroom are John Tagmyer of New Kensington and Kathleen Tagmyer of Pittsburgh.

The bride-elect is a 1997 graduate of Butler High School and earned a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry and molecular biology in 2001 from Pennsylvania State University. She is a Ph.D. candidate pursuing a doctoral degree in virology from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

Her fiancé graduated in 1994 from David B. Oliver High School and in 1999 from the University of Pittsburgh, earning a bachelor of science degree in information science. He is a systems analyst with the Department of Molecular Genetics and Biochemistry at the University of Pittsburgh.
