Hancock 30th anniversary
Lowell and Phyllis Hancock of Butler celebrate 30 years of marriage today.
The former Phyllis Mershimer married Hancock on Aug. 9, 1975, at St. John's United Methodist Church in Slippery Rock.
They have a daughter, Holly Hancock of Butler. Hancock also has three children from a previous marriage, Gary Hancock and Sandy Bauer, both of Cabot, and Beverly Hancock of Sarver.
They also have two grandsons.
Hancock is retired from Moonlight Mushroom. He is the commander of the American Legion Post 243 in West Sunbury and a member of the VFW and the Moose Lodge.
Mrs. Hancock works as an associate at Wal-Mart in Butler Township. She is a member of the American Legion Post 243 Auxiliary.
The couple belongs to Muddy Creek United Presbyterian Church.
