George W. Blatt
George W. "Pee-Wee" Blatt, 76, of 188 Hoffman Road, Oakland Township, died at 6:15 p.m. Thursday at his home.
Born in Fenelton, Dec. 30, 1928, he was the son of Charles G. and Bessie L. Morrow Blatt.
He had been a machinist for Fritz Moon from 1948 to 1963 and for Damon Industry from 1963 to 1973. He then worked at American Glass Research from 1973 until his retirement on March 17, 1991.
Mr. Blatt was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he was a member of the church council and personnel committee. He also was a member of William H. Miller Lodge 769 F&AM and the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of New Castle.
He was an avid hunter and belonged to the Happy Hunters Sportsmen's Club. He also was an avid woodworker.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred A. "Millie" Blatt, whom he married Jan. 15, 1949; two grandsons, Mick Young of Oakland Township and Chad Young of Bradenton, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Morrow of Prospect; a son-in-law, Denny Young of Oakland Township; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A daughter, Judy Young; a sister, Bessie Heasley; and three brothers, Paul, Ben and Earl Blatt, preceded him in death.
BLATT - Friends of George W. "Pee-Wee" Blatt, who died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2005, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday atTHOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev Mary Sickels, pastor of North Butler Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be at North Butler Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Oakland Township.Officers and members of the William H. Miller Lodge 769 will meet at 6:45 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home for a service.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association, 154 Hindman Road, Butler PA 16001; or to William H.
