Howard E. Bender, 66, of Middlesex Township, died Monday morning at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.

Born Jan. 14, 1939, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Clarence and Marcella Hilderhoff Bender.

He worked for 35 years at Mamaux Supply in Lawrenceville, and for Ancur Design in Millvale as an awning cutter and foreman.

Forever loved and always missed by his family, he is survived by his wife, Margaretta Schriner Bender, whom he married Sept. 11, 1970.

He was a beloved father of Howard Bender and his wife, Lisa, of Valencia; Kirk Bender and his wife, Shannon, of Valencia; and Mark Bender and his fiancée, Michelle Curran, of Mars. He was a grandfather of Cameron, Morgan and Logan Bender; brother of Raymond Bender of California, William Bender of Cherry City, and Gloria Reider of Ross Township.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Donald and Charles Bender.

BENDER - Friends of Howard E. Bender, who died Monday, July 4, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. A closing prayer will be at 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
