The sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated during weekend worship services at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road.
A "School Prayer Walk" will follow the contemporary service Sunday. Participants will caravan to local school buildings to offer prayers for the students and staff in the various facilities. A picnic will follow on the church lawn. Members should pack a lunch and take a blanket to sit on.
The grocery items being collected during August are tuna and noodles.
CHRIST'S OUTREACH
Debbie Price will provide music for the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Christ's Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave.
Innerchange will perform at 7 p.m. Friday at the Mount Chestnut Nazarene Center for the annual Nazarene Missions International Convention.
COVENANT PRESBY
The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper will be celebrated during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St.
The Covenant Cupboard Food Bank is requesting donations of spaghetti and spaghetti sauce during August. Baskets are located in the Jefferson Street entrance hallway.

FIRST BAPTIST
First Baptist Church, 221 New Castle St., will be among congregations represented Saturday in a picnic/softball marathon at Slippery Rock Baptist Camp, 130 Elliott Lane, Slippery Rock. The softball tournament, involving churches from the Association of Independent Baptist Churches of Western Pennsylvania will begin at 9:30 a.m.
A group of 15 individuals from the church will take part in a home missions trip Sunday through Aug. 14 at Munising Baptist Church in Michigan. The group will conduct a vacation Bible school program.

The youth group of First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St., will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday to play board games.
FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN
Volunteers are needed from 3 to 6:30 p.m. the second and third Monday of the month to serve community dinners at First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St.
Volunteers also are needed for Camp Creation, the day camp for kids at the Island playground. The camp will be held late afternoons from Aug. 15 to 19.
Cici's Pizza at Moraine Pointe Plaza will sponsor a Fish Bowl Night today to benefit Sarah Tapager. The restaurant will donate money when customers mention Tapager's name.
FIRST PRESBY OF BAKERSTOWN
First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, Route 8 at Heckert Road, has a new youth ministry director, Steve Morganti.
Several youth events for students in grades 6 to 12 are planned for the month of August, including movie and board game night, volleyball and Frisbee games and Sunday evening youth groups.
