8:35 p.m. Thursday - A car driven by Gary Eury, 38, of Butler was traveling southbound on Center Avenue 100 feet north of Wallula Avenue when it left the roadway, going over three feet of curb and raised sidewalk. The front passenger tire was ripped from the axle. Eury told police he was talking on his cell phone and must have oversteered. He passed a field sobriety test, but was charged with careless driving.

6:25 p.m. Friday - A three-car accident in Center Township left a Butler man injured. Lester Smith, 93, was listed in fair condition Saturday morning at Allegheny General Hospital. The accident occurred as Smith attempted to cross Route 308 from Sunset Drive onto Hendricks Road when his car collided with a car driven by Marie Fincher, 38, of Butler, who was traveling north on Route 308. Smith's car then collided with a car driven by Ira Cornett Jr., 64, of Apollo. Cornett's car then collided with Fincher's car. Fincher, Cornett and Cornett's two passengers weren't injured. All drivers and passengers were wearing seat belts. Smith was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital before being flown to Allegheny General.2 a.m. Friday - A car driven by Brian Maxwell, 22, of Chicora was traveling west on County Line Road near Route 422 in Clearfield Township when it left the roadway and hit the guard rail. Maxwell and his passenger, Joseph Yartz, 22, of Butler fled the scene without notifying police. Maxwell was subsequently found and arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.2:48 a.m. Friday - Police are searching for a stocky white man, who is 25 to 30 years old and approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall with short light-colored hair, in connection with a theft from the Pepsi machines at Boners Restaurant on West Sunbury Road in Cherry Township. The man was driving a new Chevrolet or GMC extended cab, full-size pickup truck that is dark blue or black with silver along the bottom.

11:55 p.m. Wednesday - Timothy A. Gifford Jr., 36, of Sarver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a traffic stop on Route 28 just north of the Buffalo Township exit.4:33 p.m. Thursday - James R. Asche, 59, of Butler was injured while attempting to stop a fleeing purse snatcher at the Foodland at Hilltop Plaza in East Franklin Township, Armstrong County. After the unknown suspect took the purse from the grocery cart of Judith Ann Nickleach, 64, of Ford City, he fled the store. As the thief drove away from the parking lot, Asche was dragged along. Asche sought medical treatment. Police are investigating.
