GRADUATES

Melissa Sloan graduated with a doctorate degree in social psychology, emotion and mental health from Vanderbilt University.The daughter of Tom and Paulette Sloan of Natrona Heights and the granddaughter of Donald Stewart of Butler, she is a 1996 graduate of Highlands High School and a 2000 graduate of Carnegie Mellon University.Sloan has accepted a faculty position in sociology and behavioral science at Drew University in Madison, N.J.

<B>Robert Long</B> graduated cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree in history from Dickinson College.While at the college, he received the William F. Hufstader Senior Prize and a certificate in teacher education, completed the Kappa Delta Pi program and was named to the 2004-2005 dean's list.The son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Long of Butler, he is a graduate of Knoch High School.

<B>Megan Sheridan</B> graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in music education from the Westminster Choir College of Rider University.While at the school, she was named to the dean's list and Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities, was named a Rider Scholar and received the President's Award.She was a member of Alpha Lambda Delta; secretary of the Student Government Association; and was a member of the Westminster Symphonic Choir and the Westminster Singers, performing with the New York Philharmonic, the Dresden Philharmonic and the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra.Sheridan also worked as a resident assistant and was a member of the Music Educators National Conference.The daughter of Thomas and Linda Sheridan of Butler, she is a 2001 graduate of Butler High School.Sheridan plans to attend the Teachers College of Columbia University to pursue a master of arts degree in music and music education.<B>Corey Pacek</B> graduated with a doctorate degree in medicine recently from Thomas Jefferson University.While at the university, he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Hobart Amory Hare Honor Medical Society.The son of Dennis and Barbara Pacek of Butler, he graduated in 2001 from Grove City College with a bachelor of science degree in molecular biology.Pacek plans to complete an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.He and his wife Athena Pacek live in Butler. They have a son.

<B>Deena Spahn</B> graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in communication sciences from Clarion University.While at the university, she served as president, vice president and community service chair of the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association at Clarion. She was also a member of the University Activities Board Union Committee and the Phi Kappa Phi National Honors Society.She was also the recipient of the Marian Renn Marshall Memorial Scholarship, the Alumni Association Scholarship and the APSCUF Scholarship.The daughter of Dean and Debbie Spahn of Jefferson Township, she is a 2001 graduate of Knoch High School.Spahn plans to pursue a master's degree in communication sciences and disorders at Clarion.<B>Darren Machack</B> received a bachelor of arts degree in industrial chemistry and management from Washington & Jefferson College recently.While at the college, Machack was a resident assistant, community adviser, biology and chemistry lab assistant and member of the chemistry club. He was also named to the dean's list and received the President's Scholarship.A graduate of Butler High School, he is the son of Dave and Ardie Machak of Butler.Machack plans to attend medical school at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.<B>Kathryn Washburn</B> of Butler graduated from the University of South Carolina recently with a bachelor of science degree.<B>Darlene Marshall</B> graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree in mathematics education from Grace College and Seminary.She is the daughter of Chuck and Darlene Marshall of Tama Tama, Venezuela, formerly of Butler.<B>Morgan Burns</B> graduated with a degree in political science recently from Vassar College.She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Burns of Saxonburg.<B>Crystal Crimbchin</B> of Butler graduated recently from Ohio Wesleyan University.A graduate of Butler High School, she is the daughter of Donald Crimbchin and Mary Crimbchin.<B>Stacy Ratica</B> of Butler graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg recently.<B>Matthew Kennedy</B> of Cabot graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg recently.Boston University recently awarded degrees to Butler residents <B>Sarah Chobot, Elesa Eisenhart</B> and <B>Braden Molhoek.</B>West Virginia Wesleyan College recently awarded bachelor's degrees to <B>Kelly Conrad</B> of Zelienople, <B>Leanna Laskey</B> of Prospect and <B>Jeremy Lynch</B> of Mars.<B>Ryan Love</B> graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree in English from Alfred University.The son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Love of Butler, he is a graduate of Butler High School.<B>Stacey Policicchio</B> graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in English from St. Vincent College.A 2001 graduate of Butler High School, she is the daughter of Armand and Judith Policicchio of Butler.She plans to pursue a master's degree in English at Slippery Rock University.<B>Marsha Thalhofer</B> graduated with a bachelor of science degree in biology from St. Vincent College.While at the college, she was a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, Alpha Chi and the life sciences club.A 2001 graduate of Butler High School, she is the daughter of Ronald and Carol Thalhofer of Butler Township.She plans to pursue a doctorate degree in microbiology.<B>Lauren Ricciardella</B> graduated with a bachelor of science degree in biology from St. Vincent College.While at the college, Ricciardella was named to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges and was a member of the life sciences club, the drama team, dance team, animal welfare club and Campus Ministry.The daughter of Michael and Darlene Ricciardella of Butler, she is a 2001 graduate of Butler High School.Ricciardella plans to attend dental school.<B>Lindsay Moll</B> of Cranberry Township recently received a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy from Millersville University.<B>Caitlin Hudac</B> graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in human development from the University of Chicago.While at the college, she was a member of the Motet Choir and directed the Men in Drag all-female a cappella group.
