G. William Cooper III
G. William "Bill" Cooper III, 54, of Slippery Rock died Tuesday at his home.
Born Nov. 12, 1950, in Butler, he was the son of Granville William Cooper Jr. and Janice Woodman Farmer.
He served in the Army National Guard during Vietnam Era.
Mr. Cooper, a graduate of Butler High School, attended the Computer Management School in Pittsburgh and had been a meat cutter. He also owned and operated Bill's Barber Shop in Slippery Rock for 10 years.
He enjoyed camping, baseball and golfing.
Surviving are his mother and his stepfather, John Farmer of Edinboro; his father of Harrisburg; a sister, Mrs. Gary L. (Jean R.) Davis of Slippery Rock; a brother, Jeff Smith of Butler; four stepsisters, Mrs. Dee (Elaine) Steinheiser of Edinboro, and Margaret Stroman, Joan Phillips and Sandra Sevigny, all of Florida; a stepbrother, Robert Farmer of Edinboro; and an aunt, Shirley Buell of Massachusetts. He also is survived by nieces and nephews, Jennifer and Bob Iorio of Florida, Jeffrey and Ricky Deanne O'Brien of Hanover, Gordon and Christine Davis of Butler and Gary Davis of Slippery Rock.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Smith; a niece, Tracy Scarborough; and a stepbrother.
COOPER - Friends of G. William "Bill" Cooper III, who died Tuesday, June 28, 2005, will be received from noon to 3 p.m. Friday at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W.
