Seneca Valley graduate Jessica Hamilton, a senior on the Seton Hill College women's tennis team, has been named to the NAIA–ITA All-Academic team.Hamilton is one of eight Seton Hill tennis players named to the squad, which requires a grade point average of 3.50 or above.

Marissa DeCola, 11, of Butler won the girls 11-and-under division at the Southwest Pennsylvania Junior Golf Tour at Nemacolin Country Club in Beallsville Monday.DeCola shot a 57 in the nine-hole tournament to claim first place.

NEW YORK - Alex Smith, the first pick in April's draft, agreed to terms on a six-year, $57 million deal with the San Francisco 49ers Monday.Smith will receive a guaranteed $24 million, a lawyer familiar with terms of the deal told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.The agreement is expected to set off a run of signings of first-round draft picks.
