3:34 a.m. Wednesday - Robert Hess, 29, was arrested for allegedly assaulting his wife during a domestic dispute at their East Jefferson Street apartment. Hess is charged with simple assault.6:40 a.m. Monday - Cars driven by Amber Criley, 21, of Jefferson Township and Dale Parson, 45, of Middlesex Township collided on Route 8 South near Roosevelt Boulevard.
Tuesday - A township resident reported a case of attempted telemarketing fraud in which someone purporting to be from the "National Verification Office" in Washington asked for his checking account number. The caller gave the resident an 800 number to call with the account information.But the man, in turn, asked the caller to send him information in the mail and did not give out any personal information. Police praised the man for properly handling the suspicious call.Police, meanwhile, again reminded residents not to give out financial or credit card account information to anyone unknown.
9:35 a.m. Wednesday - A tractor-trailer driven by Richard Ellis, 48, of Westfield, N.Y., rolled onto its side and slid about 430 feet on Interstate 80 in Allegheny Township. Ellis, who was wearing a seat, suffered minor injuries.8:45 a.m. Wednesday - An unidentified tractor-trailer struck the rear of a car on Interstate 79 in Lancaster Township and did not stop. Jessica Dudenhoeffer, 21, of Venango, Crawford County, was driving the car.3 a.m. Wednesday - A car driven by Mathew Ratay, 24, of Butler crashed into an embankment at Yellow Creek and Sawyer roads in Muddy Creek Township. Ratay, who was wearing a seat belt, was treated for minor injuries at Butler Memorial Hospital and released.
