Robert and Dorothy Stanley of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage with a surprise dinner with family and friends at Creative Catering in Butler.

The former Dorothy Lasichak married Stanley on July 9, 1955, at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Butler.

They have three children, Cara Flinner of Prospect; Robert Stanley Jr. of Germantown, Wis.; and William Stanley of Portersville.

They also have six grandchildren.

Stanley is retired from the Armco Meltshop in Butler.

Mrs. Stanley is retired from the Butler School District.

The couple belongs to Trinity Presbyterian Church in Butler.
