Hazel M. Drushel Kline
Hazel M. Drushel Kline, 92, of Evans City died Tuesday morning at her home.
Born June 27, 1912, on the family farm in Forward Township, she was the youngest and last surviving child of Henry and Mary Rader Drushel.
Before her marriage, she had worked at the A&P grocery store in Evans City for 12 years.
She had been a member of the Bethlehem Chapter 37 Order of the Eastern Star of Evans City, where she was a past matron. She also was a member of the Past Matrons Club and a current member of the Mars Chapter 271 O.E.S. She helped to organize the Elsie Hartje Assembly 77 Order of the Rainbow for Girls, where she served as the first mother advisor.
Mrs. Kline was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Evans City. She also belonged to several bridge clubs and enjoyed going to her camp in Marienville.
Surviving are a son and his wife, retired Col. David and Sandra Kline of State College; a daughter and her husband, Suzann and Ron Volz of Evans City; and six grandchildren, Cory Kline and his wife, Sonja, of Fort Detrick, Md., Heather Sibeto and her husband, Paul, of New Castle, Gregory Kline and his wife, Betzi, of Crofton, Md., Leanne Kline of Los Angeles, Calif., RJ Volz and his wife, Pam, of Evans City and Kelly Kopera and her husband, Michael, of Evans City. Six great-grandchildren also survive, Liah Volz, Brittany, Rhett and Bradley Kline, Paul Volz and Jarrett Kopera.
Her husband, Leroy P. "Baldy" Kline, died July 10, 1998. She also was preceded in death by six brothers, Charles, Philip, Roy, Ben, Clarence and George Drushel; and two sisters, Margaret Fox and Ida Kinsey.
<B>KLINE</B> - Friends of Hazel M. Drushel Kline, who died Tuesday, June 14, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at A. CARL KINSEY-RONALD N. VOLZ FUNERAL HOME, 328 W. Main St., Evans City. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Rosalyn Kummer, her church pastor, officiating.
