Charles Davidson Sr.

Charles F. "Bob" Davidson Sr., 90, of Mars died Tuesday afternoon at UPMC Passavant Cranberry in Cranberry Township.

Born in Mars, Dec. 30, 1914, he was the son of John F. and Laura Werner Davidson.

He was a retired truck driver and had worked at Scott Borland Trucking, Playtime Equipment and Vogel Disposal Service, all in Mars. Until recently, he repaired lawn mowers and did small engine repair.

Mr. Davidson was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Mars.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of the Mars American Legion.

Surviving are a son, Charles F. Davidson Jr. (Sherry) of Zelienople; two daughters, Nancy Bratchie of Concord, N.C., and Mrs. James (Kathleen) Marshall of Valencia; a sister, Maxine Holz of Gibsonia; and a brother, Lewis Davidson (Katy) of Mars. Five grandchildren, Robert and Ryan Davidson, Fred Bratchie, Lisa Adomaitis and Kristen Lydon; and two great-grandchildren, Nathan Adomaitis and Nicholas Lydon, also survive.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Hardt Davidson, who died Jan. 21, 1954; and four sisters.

DAVIDSON - Friends of Charles F. "Bob" Davidson, who died Tuesday, June 14, 2005, will received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at McDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave. Mars. Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Rigg, his church pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Mars Cemetery, Adams Township.
