BUTLER CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

Deb Shutak will provide music for the 10:45 a.m. Sunday service at Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68.

Boxes of adhesive bandages are being collected for the Crisis Care Kits this month, sponsored by Nazarene Missions International. A receptacle is available in the upstairs lobby.

The Pittsburgh District Nazarene Youth International Convention will begin with registration at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Mount Chestnut Nazarene Center, 177 North Road, Butler. The guest speaker at the 9 a.m. meeting will be the Rev. Gerry Whetstone, vice president of church relations at Eastern Nazarene College, Quincy, Mass. The convention concludes at noon with a picnic lunch.

Teen Camp for the Pittsburgh District Church of the Nazarene will be held Monday through July 22 at the Mount Chestnut Nazarene Center. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Jeremiah Bulich of CrossStyle Ministries. The Rev. Glen Wills of Edinboro will be the camp director.

CHRIST COMMUNITY U.M.

The Chancel Choir of Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, will provide music for the Sunday worship service at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Information and registration forms for Circle G Ranch vacation Bible school, from 9:30 a.m. to noon beginning July 26, are available in the narthex or by calling the church office.

Volunteers are needed to assist with planning and activities for the annual church picnic at noon July 24 at the Pine Shelter at Alameda Park. Contact Rob Downer for information.

CHRIST'S OUTREACH

Don Hixon will present a program and slide show on the youth's mission trip at 7 p.m. Saturday at Christ's Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave.

Tom Walker and Colleen Fink will be the guest speakers Sunday.

Sign-up sheets are posted in the church for the annual church picnic to be held Aug. 14 at the Mount Chestnut Nazarene Campground. Games will begin at 4 p.m. and dinner will follow at 5:30 p.m. Participants should take a covered dish and a dessert to share. The church will provide meat, chips, beverages and table service.

CHRISTIAN PRAISE AND WORSHIP

The Rev. James Berkebile will be the guest minister Sunday through July 24 at Christian Praise and Worship Church, Route 68, Bradys Bend.

The fitness class for senior adult women meets at 9 a.m. each Thursday. The program is open to all women.

COVENANT PRESBY

A forum to discuss sermons past and present will be held in the Assembly Room of Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., immediately after the Sunday service.

The Covenant Food Cupboard is requesting donations of cereal for the month of July. Baskets to receive the donations are in the Jefferson Street front entrance hallway.

A trip to visit the Chautauqua Institution in New York is planned for Aug. 14. Members and guests will leave the Covenant parking lot at 8 a.m. The Rev. Martin Marty, professor emeritus of the Chicago Divinity School will lead the 10:45 a.m. service at Chautauqua.

FAITH FULL GOSPEL

The Rev. Melvin Marine, an expert on Israel and end-time events, will be the guest speaker at the 10 a.m. Sunday service at Faith Full Gospel Church, 319 E. New Castle St., Zelienople. A question-and-answer session with Marine will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday.

The church picnic will be held July 31 and will include a water baptism. Those interested in water baptism should contact the Rev. John Merola.

The Home Group will be painting the home of an elderly woman in Economy Borough. To participate or donate supplies, contact Tony Papantonio.

FAITH U.P.

The Prime Timers of Faith United Presbyterian Church, 1329 N. Main St., will meet for a summer picnic at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Steelworkers Shelter at Alameda Park.

FIRST BAPTIST

The Berean Sunday school class of First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will hold a class social Friday at McDanel's Launch picnic area at Moraine State Park. Pontoon boat rides will begin at 2 p.m., and a picnic lunch will follow at 5 p.m. Participants should take a dish to share. Table service and beverages will be provided.

The Kingdom Seekers Sunday school class will host a social at 1 p.m. Saturday at the South Shore swimming area of Moraine State Park. Each family should take meat, a dish to share and table service.

The church will be among congregations participating in junior high camp Monday through July 23 at Slippery Rock Baptist Camp, 130 Elliott Lane, Slippery Rock. Registration will begin at 11 a.m. Monday.

FIRST U.M.

The youth group of First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St., will gather for paintball on Saturday. For information, contact Doug Raraigh at the church.

The Youth Ensemble will perform at the 8:20 and 10:50 a.m. services on Sunday.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

The youth of First English Lutheran Church, North Main Street, will travel to a Pittsburgh Pirates game on July 21. Youth or their parents who are interested in driving or attending the game should contact the church office by Friday.

The Lutheran Sisters in Christ will meet for a picnic at 5 p.m. Wednesday. Participants should take a dish to pass and table service. Hot dogs, hamburgers and beverages will be provided.

GLADE RUN U.P.

The senior high mission trip participants will be commissioned at both Sunday services at Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia.

The Men's Fellowship Breakfast will be held at 7 a.m. Saturday at the Country Kitchen, Route 8.

The Senior High Youth will leave Sunday for their mission trip to Atlanta.

On July 30, rain or shine, the church celebrate with some old-fashioned country western fun. Activities will include square dancing, line dancing, magic, guitar picking, food, games and pony rides.

GRACE @ CALVARY LUTHERAN

Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., will host a work day at 9 a.m. Saturday. Outside work will be done, weather permitting.

The Remnants scrapbooking group will meet from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday to assemble a scrapbook that will be sold to benefit Project Hope.

The Quilting Ladies will have a project day from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the social hall. Participants should take a bag lunch.

GRACEWAY COMMUNITY

Members of GraceWay Community Church, which meets in the Heritage Room at the Butler Days Inn, are being sought to plan a food booth for the Butler Ethnic Festival on Sept. 17.

HARVEST ASSEMBLY

Don Larva will be the guest speaker at the 10 a.m. Sunday service at Harvest Assembly of God, 160 Brownsdale Road.

NEW LIFE CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES

Son-LIFE Sunday school at New Life Christian Ministries, Knoch School Auditorium, 345 Knoch Road, Saxonburg, returns from summer break at 9 a.m. Sunday. The elementary children will continue to explore "Trades, Talents and Treasures" as they learn about carpentry and build flower boxes. The adults will continue their study on "Experiencing God." Classes are also available for preschoolers and teens, as well as nursery care for infants and toddlers.

The Men's Ministry group of North Main Street Church of God, 1201 N. Main St. Ext., will hold a cookout and campfire at 5 p.m. Saturday at McGowan's Farm in Prospect.

OLD UNION PRESBY

Rev. Donn Ed of Hosanna Industries will be the guest speaker for the Sunday service at Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars.

The church growth team will meet after the Sunday worship service.

SPRINGDALE LUTHERAN

The Rev. Karl Schoch will be the guest pastor for the 9 a.m. Sunday service at Springdale Lutheran Church, 1061 Mahood Road, West Sunbury.

ST. JOHN'S REFORMED

St. John's Reformed Church, Route 68 W at Benbrook Road, will celebrate the Sacrament of Baptism at the 10 a.m. Sunday service. Any member wishing to have a child baptized should contact the pastor.

A gospel concert featuring Barry and Debbie Wiles will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at the outdoor picnic shelter, weather permitting. Refreshments will follow.

Practice for the 8:35 Alive service at St. John's United Church of Christ, 501 E. Main St., Evans City, will be held at 7 p.m. today.

ST. PETER'S EPISCOPAL

The vestry of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 218 E. Jefferson St., will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

A healing service with Holy Communion will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

ST. PETER'S REFORMED

ST. RICHARD R.C.

The young people of St. Richard Roman Catholic Church, 3841 Dickey Road, Gibsonia, preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation in the fall will attend a retreat at the New Horizons Retreat Center in Clymer, July 22 through 24 or Aug. 5 through 7.

TRINITY LUTHERAN

Holy Communion will be offered at the 6:30 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday services at Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive. The Sunday service will be a contemporary worship service.

Church members are invited to share their thoughts concerning Trinity's ministry during this week's Sunday school hour. Coffee and cookies will be served.

A pool party for youth group members will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday Details and directions are posted on the youth bulletin board.

TRINITY PRESBY

Mark Frailey will be the guest speaker Sunday at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 107 Staley Ave.

The food item now being collected for the Covenant Food Cupboard is spaghetti or spaghetti sauce.

The Trinity softball team will play a doubleheader at 6:15 p.m. Friday at Lutherlyn ballfield.

The Brown Bag studies groups will cover the same topics at their noon and 7 p.m. Wednesday meetings.

VICTORY CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP
