Ruth Wilson Kline, 87, of Mars died Monday at UPMC Passavant in Cranberry Township.

Born Aug. 10, 1917, in Hammond, Ind., she was the daughter of William C. and Bess D. Smith Wilson.

Mrs. Kline had been an executive secretary for much of her life. She served on the Mars Borough Planning Commission for years, and she was a member of the Health and Welfare Council of Western Pennsylvania.

Mrs. Kline enjoyed traveling and gourmet cooking as well as the pursuit of her baccalaureate degree. She had been an avid Steelers and Pirates fan.

Mrs. Kline was a former, active member of St. John Lutheran Church of Mars and a lifelong Christian.

She is survived by her daughter, Sarah E. Kline of Mars.

She had been married to the late Ross G. Kline, who passed away on June 6, 1999. A sister also preceded her in death.
