Andy and Sophia Yaracs of Lyndora celebrated 60 years of marriage recently.

The former Sophia Potyka married Yaracs on July 3, 1945, at the Lyndora Presbyterian Church in Lyndora.

They have three children, Ronald Yaracs of Conshohocken, Andrew Yaracs of Butler Township and Barbara Bailey of Butler. They also have four grandchildren.

Yaracs is retired from Allstate Insurance, where he worked as a claims adjuster. He is a member of the Lyndora American Legion, the president of the General Butler Vagabonds, the founder of the Lyndora Girls' Drum and Bugle Corps and a former member of the Lyndora Volunteer Fire Department.

Mrs. Yaracs is retired from Eckerd and Point drug stores, where she worked as a manager.

The couple belongs to St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church.
