Thursday - Police recovered a Chevrolet van barely 90 minutes after it was reported stolen from a Fourth Avenue home.Dennis McCall told police around 4:30 a.m. he found his van missing. The vehicle contained about $3,000 in compact discs.Shortly after 6 a.m., a Third Avenue resident called police to report a van blocking an alley between Third and Fourth avenues. Officers determined the van was McCall's.Police said it appeared the thief, after taking the van, tried to turn around in the alley and got stuck. The abandoned van was not damaged and no property inside was missing.12:46 p.m. Wednesday - A car driven by Eric McLafferty, 27, of Butler and a motorcycle driven by Henry Brown, 60, of Penn Township collided at South Washington and Vogley streets. Brown, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered minor injuries.
7:47 p.m. Thursday - A van driven by Kenneth Eamigh, 58, of Brush Valley, Indiana County, and a tractor-trailer driven by David Pop, 41, of Elderton, Armstrong County, collided on Route 422 at the northbound on-ramp of Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township.Eamigh, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken with unknown injuries to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. His condition was not known this morning. Eamigh was cited for a turn violation.
Thursday - Police are continuing to investigate a recent theft case in East Brady and an earlier burglary in Richland Township.Undisclosed items in the East Brady theft were taken between June 6 and 9 from several pontoon boats docked on the Allegheny River. Two Cranberry Township residents and a Chicora area man own the boats.In the Richland Township burglary, sometime between May 27 and June 3, someone entered the home of Jon King and took a 22-caliber Taurus revolver, $400 in rolled coins and $500 in Canadian money.Anyone with information about either case is asked to call the barracks at 814-226-1710.
